Adira Elham is a belly dance artist and creator of The “Original” Dangerous Curves. She has studied Lebanese Cabaret for over ten year with instructor and mentor Aziza Ammar (Detroit).
She believes that all women are beautiful and can experience a fulfilling joy in belly dance! Inspired to use her knowledge of teaching; she sought to bring dance to her own community. She's taught at Youthville (Detroit); helping to raise awareness of health & culture to the inner city youth. She also teaches Middle Eastern Folklore dance (Saidi) to expose more richness within Middle Eastern Culture.
Adira continues to train with International Instructors such as: Ranya Renee, Ahmed Hussien, Raqia Hassan and more.
Scholastically, she holds master degree in Education Curriculum from Eastern Michigan University. Her training as an educator was the catalyst to creating Dangerous Curves Belly Dance Convention.
It is Adira’s goal to teach and encourage all women, especially plus size, how to dance and express themselves freely.
Alicia is a certified health education specialist. She is deeply passionate about wellness for everyday people.
Alicia holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and a master’s degree from Wayne State University in Health Education.
She works tirelessly to educate communities about health
and wellness in an effort to prevent diseases. Alicia has been a Group Fitness Instructor since 2014. She's trained in aerobics, low-impact aerobics and Zumba!
Chelsea, an active dancer since the age of seven , has a background in hip-hop and modern. She continued dancing throughout her teenage years at Star Factory training with Adrian “Dreez” Harvey of “Asiid” on MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew. As a teen, she was also featured on a local Dance Show aired on WADL 23 for two seasons. She went on to produce and participate in shows at Michigan State University including the Annual Alpha Phi Alpha Fashion Show, Carpe Diem, and Red Alert to name a few. A marketing and advertising professional by day and dancer by passion; Chelsea is no stranger to directing and branding entertainment-based events.
In recent years she has danced background for artist, Keely Ferguson, and participated in the city’s culture of festivals including Paradise Valley, The African World Festival, and Detroit Summer Jamz. She has also opened for international headliners including Keyshia Cole, Kem, Musiq Soulchild, Marsha Ambrosius, Day 26, and Monica.
Diamond is a native born Detroiter who has danced and instructed fitness classes internationally. She is a dancer, fitness instructor, and choreographer based in the USA. She has been licensed as a ZUMBA Fitness Instructor since 2010 and later certified in PILATES, BOKWA, POUND and group fitness. In 2013 Diamond was the Bokwa Education Specialist Trainer for the state of Michigan; opening nine cities and one country. She is the founder and operator of The Bomb Fitness presently located in both Southfield and Taylor, MI. Diamond is also the creator and presenter of IGNITE IT Workshops; a six hour workshop that is chock-full of motivating, practical suggestions and choreography for novice and professional fitness folks who desire to maximize their businesses by gaining and retaining established clientele. Diamond has a passion for choreography.
Along with being a part of the world's largest dance fitness program, Zumba(R), in 2019 Diamond introduced what she affectionately calls AfroHustle: two hours of AfroBeats inspired dancing in a repetitious hustle format to pop music from Africa...each routine is taught step by step. No 'soles" left behind!
Diamond enjoys helping people reach their fitness goals successfully. She has trained and continue to mentor many people around the globe.
Dionne is a passionate and committed hip hop dancer that loves to share her passion with others. She teaches a non judgmental class and trys to make sure every dancer can come in, have fun, and always want to come back for more. Not only does Dionne teach dance, she strives to instill confidence in dancers. She pushes their dedication to the movements and abilities to perform to perform. She likes to challenge dancers. As she says "If it is not a challenge, you are not learning".
Dionne trained at Marygrove College and it was there that she realized that dance is something I truly LOVED to do. Beyond classes she began to take lessons with master teachers and joined dance companies to elevate her dance. Dionne has performed and competed in Detroit, Pontiac, Chicago, Memphis, Atlanta and Los Angeles. One of her biggest accomplishments is competing in World of Dance Chicago. The teams hard work qualified them to make it to World of Dance Finals in California. Notably this was an amazing experience that she was able to enjoy on two platforms. That being said, growing is number one! Dionne expresses that she did it and wants other to do so as well!!
Quran, aka “Q”, is a native of Detroit, MI; primarily raised in Southfield. He has been dancing since the age of 6. His dance idols are Janet Jackson and Janet’s former choreographer Tina Landon. As a child, Q always watched music videos on tv and mimicked the choreography. He is a master of various dance styles including hip-hop, pop, cheer, step, freestyle, majorette, and lyrical. He served as the dance team coach for four years at Southfield-Lathrup High School. He also danced and choreographed numerous of projects for local artist at venues such as Arts Beats & Eats, Saint Andrews, and MGM Casino to name a few. One of his biggest accomplishments was opening up for Brian McKnight. Today, “Q” has two degrees in Business and is currently working on his Masters.
Tava grew up dancing various dance styles including Ballet, Hip Hop, and Modern. As a high school student her mother strongly encouraged her to take a salsa class despite her disinterest. Tava fell in love and completely immersed herself in Cuban dance and culture! She began performing nationally and across the Canadian border at the age of 16. She's now the youngest certified Energetic Soul Instructor at Energetic Soul Dance Studios. Tava also holds a Marketing degree from Wayne State University. Tava strives to inspire her generation and younger to fall in love with the dance and music just as she did!
